Hello. Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm a prospective educator who recently earned two credentials from CSU, Chico. These include an Education Specialist and a Multiple Subject teaching credential. My true passion is working with individuals with disabilities whether it is in the public school setting or in the nonprofit sector. Prior to earning my credentials, I worked as an instructor for adults with disabilities for both Community Resource Services in Yuba City, CA and for the Work Training Center (WTC) in Chico, CA for a combined total of nearly five years. After my experiences working as an instructor, a student teacher, and as a volunteer in the classroom, I could not see myself working in a non-educational setting. This blog will provide you with short descriptions of various types of assistive technology (AT) devices and how they can be used to enrich the educational experiences of many students in and out of the classroom. It will also provide you with various links to resources and services available to individuals with disabilities and their families. I look forward to viewing input from others as I continue to develop my blog.
